About Jane Yamada
Since I drew my first piece of art in kindergarten, art has always been my main interest and focus. I received my art training at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles and then free lanced as a commercial artist for the next 20 years in LA, working with such companies as Disney, Warner Brothers, Sesame Street, Mattel Toys, Simon and Schuster, Harcourt Brace, and Macmillan Publishing. Upon moving to Colorado 12 years ago, I began working mostly in educational publishing, and branching out into murals, paintings, and crafts.
I enjoy creating – I gain immense satisfaction from my painting, drawing and other forms or artistic expression. It is an integral part of my life. I feel my art should enhance my life and the world around me so I create beautiful, fun and colorful images which I feel bring more joy into the world. Flowers are a common theme in my art, as well as other fun and playful subjects.
