About Carol M Monaco
I am a nature and outdoor photographer, specializing in intimate wildlife photographs that aim to draw in the viewer and convey a sense of the animal’s spirit and its world. Eight years ago I took my first nature photography course and have been photographing seriously ever since then; my photography is motivated by a strong desire to share the natural world with others. My particular passions include photographing endangered species, birds, and large predators. The beauty of patterns in nature and architecture are also part of my work. In my wildlife photography, I strive to capture animal behavior unique to a particular species in order to further communicate the animal’s world to the viewer.
I especially enjoy traveling to wild places to capture wildlife images, both in the U.S. and around the world, and have photographed polar bears in Manitoba, Canada and wildlife in Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, Galapagos and Panama, as well as throughout the United States. My most recent trip was to South Georgia and Antarctica, where I had the pleasure of photographing penguins, seals and other wildlife unique to the region.
