I fabricate metal into artwork using both modern and traditional metalworking techniques. My work ranges from a series of hand-hammered steel Western hats that commemorate the American West to steel rod sculptures twisting in “divine proportioned” forms that mimic natural growth.
After a few decades in the truck driving industry, my imaginative spirit directed me to attend formal art school and start shaping metal and wood. In recent years I have acquired some metalworking machinery, which has enabled me to make a variety of forms and expand my body of work. My art embodies an expression of my creative self, our connection to the natural world, and my exploration of the human spirit.
