About Jocelyn Hunter
Jewelry is such an intimate art form. Worn on the body, it becomes a part of the wearer. So much so that when we forget to put it on, we feel naked, even exposed.
For me, making jewelry is as intimate as wearing it. The process starts with the selection of stones. I go to the rock, gem and mineral shows and literally fall in love with the stones. I purchase them and take them home. Then I play with them. I research them, listen to them, arrange different stones together, sketch them, and even dream about them. Silver is the medium that allows the stones to be worn.
Each handmade piece of jewelry that I create enjoys such an intimate beginning.
