About Letitia Hess

Water media is the vehicle I use to create the art. Every type of water soluble paint
finds its way into my work by brush, pouring or collage.
The dimension of the artwork is as varied as the application. Paintings as small as a
postage stamp are created alongside of paintings measuring 30”x36”
Color, texture and contrast attract me. There is great satisfaction in successfully
bringing these elements together in a painting.

The Redemption Portfolio
Paintings that are less than what I wanted them to be start the adventure of redemption
As one who has been redeemed by Jesus, I know from personal experience what
wonderful success can occur when failure is placed in the hands of the Master. My
Redemption Portfolio is full of paintings waiting to be reborn! The mediocre can now
reach for marvelous. Like my sanctification journey, these paintings must endure the
cutting, tearing and reshaping process to become that beautiful new composition.
My art mirrors my life. The journey is an adventure. Nothing is sweeter than snatching
(or being snatched) from the fist of failure and liberated to victory.
I am indebted to each instructorʼs contribution to my knowledge and growth, to each
patron who enjoys the finished work and especially Abba Father Who knit into me the
desire to paint.
