I always loved fabric, sewing and dressing up. From the time I was a little girl my grandmother and mom taught me to sew. In fact they made all my clothes-double-since I have a twin sister. By our teens my sister could tailor coats. Not me! I was always trying different ways to make spectacular clothes.

I found my way to silk painting as life was falling apart. Totally self-taught (except for those wonderful artists friends who share) I turned to silk painting to piece my world together. I combine my love of sewing with the vibrant world of colors on silk. Seasonal scarves, art hangings, and table coverings are designed and executed as unique art and wearables.

I now have a studio in north Boulder, CO, Carol Silks, where I can create to my hearts content. Over the past ten years I have developed a line of fall, holiday and spring scarves. Each season brings new colors, patterns and techniques.
