About Chuck Ceraso
Chuck Ceraso studied art at the University of Notre Dame, the New Orleans Academy of Fine Art and with Henry Hensche in Provincetown, MA. He has taught drawing and painting for the last twenty years at various places including his studio in Lafayette, where he continues to teach a couple of classes a week; at the Denver Art Museum for the past 12 years and at the Arvada Center for about 18 years.
Artist Statement
It seems the simplest way to say why I paint is because beauty compels me. When I am struck by the beauty of light on a tree or stream or on flowers or a field or on a still life or a person’s face, it isn’t enough to just appreciate it. I have to do something about it. So I paint.
