About Robert Castellino

Background: Bob Castellino has been a professional photographer, writer and publisher for over 20 years. Originally, photography and writing were a vehicle for Bob to create a story connecting people with nature through art. He specializes in places close to his home in Colorado and the West. His repertoire includes photographing and writing about people and places in urban America—in particularly Denver and Boulder, Colorado. He takes great interest in getting to know people and what motivates them to reach the heights of their abilities. He is fascinated with the expansive landscape of the west, its history, our part in its development and how we create a sense of place here.

Approach to Photography: Bob is known to go the extra mile to find a great location, look a little harder for people in an unusual situation to develop or wait a little longer for the right conditions to make a photograph. He presses the limits of his equipment, digital technology and skill to create beautiful photographs. Along with the photographs he loves to write, publish, work in photoshop and create multi-media exhibits and presentations. He has a unique ability to mold ideas, words and images into powerfully impassioned stories. He has great concern for all things wild and natural in the West as well as the fragile state of human kind around the world.Bob enjoys the creative process of developing a concept into a meaningful story to share with people as much as he enjoys the story telling itself.

Instructor: Bob is an accomplished, versatile, creative and multifaceted professional. He taught photography at the Music and Arts Conservatory of Santa Barbara, Boulder Digital Arts, Mike’s Camera, Camera Clubs around the West, and his own photographic workshops at Reed Photo Imaging, Snowmass Workshops in Aspen, and Englewood Camera.

Keynote Speaker: He is a captivating, charismatic speaker and presenter. He has been sought out as a keynote speaker and personality at the Sustainable Summit Colorado 1999, University of Colorado Presidents Leadership Class 2000, Bioneers Conference 2003, Zonta, Colorado’s Authors Fesitval, Denver Mayor’s Club, Denver Historical Society, Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and the Rocky Mountain Sierra Club on numerous occasions. He speaks on a wide range of subjects, including: the Entrepreneurial Artist, Self Publishing —Step by Step, the Art of Seeing and the Exceptional Photograph, Connecting with the Spirit of the Earth, and recently, Preservation of Colorado Wild Lands and Energy Policy and Conservation.
