Each time Lorrie expresses herself with her abstract watercolors, she is guided through the gentle and dramatic palettes of color by a vivid imagination. Her fascination with Japanese art and calligraphy pushed her to become a self taught calligrapher, at a very early age. Lorrie’s abstract paintings effortlessly convey her whimsical, fun-loving side and her zest for life. Her choices of color are inspired by Peter Max, and Georgia O’Keefe and the beauty and nature that surrounds her.
Her individual style is as individual as is her flair and passion for life. . It has been said that “Caplan paints from her soul—it is more than a flow-it is a fountain of never ending resource, a force that cannot be turned off.”
